Photo: Kids of all ages enjoy the entertainmentWhat kid doesn't love a festival? (That goes for grown-up kids too!)

The performances at and surrounding the Grassy Nook Children's Stage are specifically designed for audience participation. This year, the Grassy Nook will feature humorous singer-songwriter Uncle Pete, storyteller Elloise Schoettler, the dynamic duo of Tom Proutt and Emily McCormick, Takoma Park favorite Frank "Banjo Man" Cassel, Welsh storyteller Cindy Rosen, hip-hop youth dance troupe Future Shock, and the unusual sounds of No Blow & the Bushwhackers.

Remember, many performances are signed for the hearing impaired.

Games, face painting, and other fun stuff are near the Grassy Nook Stage.
Cub Scout Pack 33 is providing homemade games, always a popular diversion for children and their families. Also, this year for the first time Abrakadoodle is sponsoring a hands-on crafts area for kids, just outside the Grassy Nook Stage area.

Children of all ages will enjoy looking for Frank Cassel, The Banjo Man. He'll be roaming the Festival grounds throughout the day.

Throughout the Festival there's plenty of food and fun designed to appeal to all members of your family. And remember, the proceeds from this year's Festival go to local organizations that benefit youth. Please consider purchasing a this year's t-shirt — which comes in children's and adult sizes — designed by Takoma Park Middle School student Anya Kozarsky.
