Celebrate the start of TPFF by playing noisemakers and shakers around the school. Meet in the front of the school following opening Festival remarks.

Sydelle Pearl

An award-winning children’s book author, originally from New Jersey now living in Maryland, incorporates songs into her participatory storytelling presentations.

Mindfulness Planting with Elise Stigliano

Learn how to plant a houseplant and be aware of the mindfulness that goes into each step.

L-M-N-O-People

A children’s music band from Hyattsville, Maryland creates an energetic, interactive experience for families. With roots in contemporary folk and flavors of pop and rock, their music invites kids to sing, move, and imagine along.

 

1:45-2:45

The Pinky Pickers

A collective of musicians that grew out of the DC and Baltimore Old Time scenes. Their aim is to honor the genre’s traditions and each musician’s unique voice as an offering to their community. They play a mix of traditionals and originals that push boundaries while remaining familiar.

 

3:15-3:45

Blair Robotics Demonstration

FRC Team 449, The Blair Robot Project is a student-led robotics team based at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring. Each year, they design, build, and program a full-scale industrial-style robot to compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), an international program that challenges students to apply STEM skills in real-world engineering scenarios. For this demonstration, they will showcase one of their robots, explain the engineering principles behind its design, and demonstrate its Wiffle ball launching mechanism.

Ingrid Gorman

Come listen, sing, and dance when children’s author Ingrid Gorman reads her books and plays a song all kids can move to!
